Creating the Digipak
Below is the progression of my Digipak:
I started of with this image of a brick wall found of Google as a basis for the cover of my digipak.
I then added this image to the picture of the brick wall and at this point decided to go with a 'graffiti' look to the album cover. To do this I attempted to create a newly painted look to the image on the wall through paint splatters and the font of the writing. To create the writing I used the 'painterz' font, and added a stroke/outline and then removed the inside fill of the writing.
I wanted the digipak to relate to the song in some way so I decided to create the in side with lights taken from the title of the song. To do this I used the picture of lights below.
I first created a blank template to complete my work
I then added the previously shown picture of lights, set it's format to screen allowing for a glowing, bright effect as shown below, and then duplicated and extended the image.
I then added a gradient to the image to complete it and added pink lights at the bottom.
I then proceeded to add the pictures to their corresponding panels.
I then decided to create the CD following the inside theme of lights. I used part of the image I created for the inside panels, placed it half on the cd, duplicated the image and rotated it matching the opposite side. I then added the name of the song keeping with the theme of writing I used throughout.

Hip Hop music video - Key conventions brainstorm
Camera shots:(Below are shots commonly used in hip hop music videos)
- Low Angle Shots
Low angle shots display dominance as the artist is looking down at the camera and therefore the audience inferring that they are above everyone and highly important.

Album art analysis
Below are some album covers I took inspiration from when creating my digipak/ album cover. The first is Eminem's Relapse album cover and the second is Drake's Nothing was the same album cover.

| Eminem Relapse |
Eminem's face is situated in the centre and is the focus of the cover drawing the viewer's eyes directly to him, immediately recognising the artist. This highlights his face, important status and power/dominance. The face is distorted in some way and appears to be created from 'pills' which at the time was a controversial topic for the artist. Before the release of this album Eminem was supposedly having 'problems' with drugs which he recovered from and then relapsed after the second divorce of his wife and the death of his best friend. After recovering from his relapse he then published the album. This image of the picture relates with the name and nature of the album and his situation in life.

There are separate covers for the different versions of the album. The cover uses artwork to create a picture, appearing to have meaning. For example it can be inferred that the child is the young persona of Drake, as he stated in a previous interview he wanted to go back to his roots. Drake's face is also centred in the middle of the cover highlighting his importance and status of album. It also allows fan's of Drake to easily identify the artist of the album. The artwork also provides a collectable feel to the album cover encouraging fans to purchasing the hard copy of the album.
These and other album covers inspired my creation. I wanted to create an album cover that resembled art of some sort and was connected to the song/video.
